Here, we detail the planned operations and their implications for road users.

Maintenance on Highways: Pruning and Watering

Larnaca Airport – Ayia Napa and Larnaca – Nicosia Highways

The Forestry Department, under the directives of the Department of Public Works, will embark on pruning and watering works on the central medians of all highways within the Larnaca Province. Starting from Monday, the 25th of June, and continuing until the 31st of July 2024, maintenance will occur on two key stretches:

  • Larnaca Airport – Ayia Napa Highway: The work will span from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout.
  • Larnaca – Nicosia Highway: Maintenance will extend from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit towards Nisou.

These operations are scheduled from Monday to Thursday each week between 08:30 and 15:30.

Larnaca – Kokkinos Highway

A subsequent phase of maintenance will take place from the 8th of July until the 13th of August 2024. The Larnaca – Kokkinos highway will see similar activities, beginning 400 meters before the Kalos Chorio roundabout and continuing up to the exit towards Kokkinos.

For the duration of these works, lane closures will be enforced. The lane adjacent to the central median will be partially closed in both directions, affecting approximately 1.5 kilometers of the highway at a time.

Night-Time Repairs: Nicosia – Limassol Highway (A1)

Partial Road Repairs between Skarinou and Zygi

Crucial partial road repairs are scheduled on the Nicosia – Limassol highway (A1) stretching from Skarinou to Zygi. These will take place from Tuesday, 25th June, to Thursday, 27th June 2024, between 21:00 at night and 06:00 the following morning.

Both lanes heading from Nicosia to Limassol will be partially closed over a 3-kilometer section. Traffic will be rerouted to the opposite direction, accommodating two-way flow during the closure.

Urban Area Maintenance: Central Medians’ Greenery

Work on Major Streets in Lakatamia

The Lakatamia Municipality has scheduled maintenance works for the greenery on central medians along several major avenues. From Tuesday, 25th June, to Friday, 28th June 2024, between 09:00 and 12:45, these activities will take place on:
