Wine festival ready for kick-off

Limassol is ready to host the 54th Wine Festival, which takes place from August 27 until September 6.

Mayor Andreas Christou  has  extended an open invitation to everyone in Cyprus, residents and visitors alike, to gather in Limassol and enjoy the experience. He also said that it was a good opportunity to commend the efforts made by Cypriot wine growers in order to promote local wines islandwide and abroad.

Speaking at a press conference, Christou said that the Wine Festival has been established as the town`s most known event, attracting the interest of thousands.
Major wineries as well as regional ones are participating in the festival, offering visitors a great variety of wines. Stands with traditional food, delicacies and souvenirs will also be on offer.

The Wine Festival, which takes place at the Municipal Gardens, will also feature dozens of other events such as concerts, theatre performances and storytelling.
