University of Kyrenia is expanding

Taking its place in the newly established campus located on the
coastal line of the city of KyreniaUOK-Logo the University of Kyrenia is adding 5 new faculties with 17 departments to its current structure consisting of 4 faculties, 12 departments and 2 schools. Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering will come under the umbrella of the University of Kyrenia.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the University of Kyrenia, five new faculties would be established and implemented in the academic year 2015-2016. Committed to making a difference by steering the wheel of science towards the future within the frame of its innovative vision and contemporary approach to education, the University of Kyrenia continues to grow by opening new horizons with its new faculties and departments to be opened.

Alongside the five faculties and 17 departments to be opened in the new academic year, the University of Kyrenia currently houses four faculties with 12 departments and two vocational schools that solely focused on aviation and maritime studies.

Speaking on the issue, Prof. Dr. Ilkay Salihoğlu, Vice Rector of the University of Kyrenia, stated that international higher education criteria, Kyrenia city’s structure and its developmental vision, the expectations of Kyrenia’s people, and social benefit-oriented studies aimed at actualizing the integration of Kyrenia with the world in practical and scientific sense was taken into consideration and all issues were evaluated carefully while taking the decision regarding the establishment of the new faculties and departments.
