Rally drivers from North Cyprus dominated an off-road race in Turkey, claiming the first and second place despite never having raced in snow before.
Serkan Bolçocuk and co-driver Murat Aşık, members of the Off-Road Association, were crowned the champions of the rally near Turkey’s north-eastern city of Kars, as part of its annual Sarıkamış Winter Games.
They were joined on the podium by Musa Ersoy and Mehmet Karza who completed the two-stage 26.5km course with the second fastest time. They were handed their trophies by Kars governor Günay Özdemir. A third TRNC team, Yusuf Hüdan and Hasan Reyhan, failed to make the grade after running into trouble in a forest section of the rally.
