Trail runners set off under the Blue Moon of Bellapais

Crusader Castles Ultra Trail runners were set to continue a series of shorter summer trail runs on Friday night with a “Blue Moon” run above Bellapais to mark July’s second full moon.

Runners were due to set off at 7pm from Ambelia Village for the 10km trek followed by a meal and a relaxing swim.

Four more trail runs are on offer in a “Run Wild Trail Race Series” on different Girne mountain trails from September to December to introduce trail running to a wider audience.

Cyprus Trail Runners already organise the La Sportiva Mountain Madness Trail Run Series in South Cyprus from February to December.

The season opens on Sunday, September 6 with the 10km Wild Alevkaya race, followed by runs on routes to be announced later scheduled for October 4, November 1 and December 6.
