Tourist arrivals to south Cyprus spiked 4.9% in May, official data showed on Tuesday.
According to the statistical service in the South, arrivals increased 4.9% to 307,449 people (up from 293,181 from May 2014).
Most of Cyprus major tourist markets were on the up including Britain, Sweden, Greece and Germany.
There was a 17.1% significant increase in holidaymakers from Britain – the island’s largest market – to 124,189 from 106,063 in May 2014.
Income from tourism accounts for around 12% of Cyprus’ GDP.
