Top marks for creative ESK pupil

Creative student Vladislava Matveeva is on top of the world after her performance in last summer’s IGCSE examinations. The English School of Kyrenia pupil attained the highest Art and Design mark in the global examinations, awards body Pearson International has announced.

The Year 12 pupil said she was thrilled to receive the honour and expressed particular thanks to her teachers, Katie Dunn and Didem Tumer. Now in her sixth year at the Bellapais School, Vladislava, who speaks five languages, is currently pursuing her International Baccalaureate studies.

School principal Hector MacDonald said: “Over the last three years, we have been able to celebrate two students achieving this global top award in Russian and now Art and Design. This is a fantastic reflection on the quality of the students and their teachers. All of us at ESK are very proud of Vladislava’s achievements and wish her every success in her IB Diploma studies.”
