When Sapqa Restaurant opened in Kyrenia two years ago, it immediately became a favorite place for the younger generation who would like to come here after school to hang out, have a coffee, smoothie or a light lunch. The good reputation of the restaurant spread quickly and today, most residents know the “hat restaurant” – Sapqa means hat in Turkish.
The restaurant is modernly decorated with outdoor and indoor seating. Small lights decorated with hat-shaped lampshades sprinkle a soft light over the seating booths and on the TV screens soundless music video clips are shown. Some nights a week sports is shown on the tv’s but the crowd is more calm and it’s never too loud to make it easy for dinner guests to enjoy the food in peace and quiet. Sapqa is a young and modern gathering place where you go to socialize, eat, have a drink, play some backgammon and maybe smoke water pipes – there are a lot of flavors to choose from!
The staff is very nice and always helps you find a seat. The menu consists of vegetarian wraps, salads, moderate soups and many different kinds of meat dishes. Try the tasty breakfast that starts serving at 8 am in the morning. You can order everything from omelette to waffles.
