Prince of Wales ‘wants to visit Cyprus’ he tells Siber

According to Sefa Karahasan from Milliyet Newspaper, Britain’s Prince Charles is believed to have told Parliamentary Speaker Sibel Siber that he will come to Cyprus if ‘he gets an invitation’.

Siber met with HRH Prince Charles, the next in line to the throne, at the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli War in Canakkale. According to the report in Milliyet, Turkish President Erdogan introduced Siber to the Prince of Wales and when he discovered who she was proceeded to share his views on Cyprus with her. She briefed him on the latest developments and Charles is believed to have told her that he would like to visit Cyprus.

Prince Charles gave Siber the message that the Cyprus problem needed to be solved and added that in the event he receives an invitation from an international organisation, he would like to visit North Cyprus. Siber told him that they would be honoured to see Charles in both the north and the south of the island.
