Pallas Theatre ‘bridges the divide with music concert’

Pallas Theatre bridges divide

Bridge of Music concerts by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra this month at the Pallas Theatre in South Nicosia and Tala Amphitheatre in Paphos feature Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot soloists: violinist Charis Hadji georgiou and pianist Esra Poyrazoğlu Alpan.

The programme features the overture to Haydn’s opera L’isola disabitata, Op 28/9, Haydn’s Concerto for Violin and Piano in F major, Op 18/6, seven traditional Cypriot songs by A Baltas and Ali Hoca’s haunting medley Cyprus Capriccio.

With Mr Hoca as conductor, the concerts will take place in the capital on Friday, June 23 and in Paphos on Saturday, June 24, both starting at 8.30pm.

The Paphos concert is free of charge. Tickets cost 12 euros for the Pallas Theatre concert and are available online via www.cyso.org.cy. For more information, call 00357 22 463144.
