The ideal world …the elementary; natural insisted conception! We’re inherently designed to conceive the baby we’ve always dreamed of! An egg and sperm are fertilized inside a woman’s body. If the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the womb and continues to grow, magic, a baby is born 9 months later.

When natural conception is not so ideal, or occurring; time for a plan of action – what’s the plan? ‘ART’ assisted reproductive technology commonly referred to as [IVF]. Simplified, it is the processing procedure of Fertilization under clinical laboratory conditions. Breaking Barriers – Overwhelming ? Prepare for In Vitro Fertilization
Prior to beginning IVF treatment, women will first undergo ovarian reserve testing. This involves taking a blood sample and testing the sample for the level of follicle stimulation hormone [FSV]. The results of the test will finally give your doctor information about the size and quality of your eggs.

Followed by your doctor examining your uterus which may involve having an ultrasound, which sets off high frequency sound waves to create an image of your uterus. Followed by inserting a scope through your vagina to your uterus. These tests can reveal he health of your uterus and help the doctor determine the best way to implant the embryos.

Men will need to have sperm testing. This involves giving a semen sample, which a lab will analyze for number size and shape of the sperm. If the spermicide are damaged or weak, there is a procedure called intracytoplasmic sperm injection [ICSI] may possibly be necessary. During ICSI a technician injects sperm into the egg. ICSI can be part of the IVF Process.

IVF & Genetic Engineering: The initial 5 stages and procedures
1. Stimulation: Individually-tailored [COS] Controlled Ovarian Stimulation. To stimulate fertility, medication is prescribed.
2. Egg retrieval: Your eggs are retrieved through a minor surgical procedure.
3. Insemination: The male Donor/Partner: through laboratory conditions provides a sample of sperm.
4. Embryo culture: Insemination process whereby sperm donor and eggs are mixed under clinical laboratory conditions, then stored for insemination.
5. Transfer of embryos: The embryos are transferred into your uterus between 3 and 5 days following egg retrieval and insemination.

Depending on your situation, IVF can use:
* your eggs and your partners sperm
* Your eggs and your donor stern
* Donor eggs and your partners sperm
* Donated embryos
