New gigantic solar power park

A solar park, the largest on the island, will begin operations in April, according to the Energy Authority on the south side.
The park, which is in Tseri, a suburb south of Nicosia, contains 12,000 solar panels that will produce 5,000 megawatt hours of electricsol_energi_park_norra_cypern_magasinetity per year and is estimated to save 3.6000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
Construction of the park began in January 2014 at a cost of € 3.3 million. The park will sell electricity at 8.6 cents per kWh.
