Mayor treats SOS youngsters

Thirty youngsters from Lefkoşa’s SOS Children’s Village nursery school were hosted to a day at the seaside by the Mayor of iskele. The two- to five-year-olds were entertained at Iskele public beach and treated to lunch by the town’s municipality before being sent home with gifts.

Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu praised the work of the SOS charity and stressed the importance of making sure the children were integrated into the wider community.

He added: “Seeing the children smiling is worth every effort. We are always ready to whatever we can for them as the future generation.” The young visitors presented a thank you note “signed” with their handprints to Mr Sadıkoğlu and school principal Rahme Kavaz thanked him for what has become an annual outing.
