Lions Club Union congratulates Kıbrıs on its 26 years of service

Concessions will never be made to principles which have underpinned Kibris newspaper – the Turkish-language sister publication of Cyprus Today – since it was launched 26 years ago, Kıbrıs  Media Group general director Bilge Nevzat has said.

“No matter what the conditions, we have never made concessions on our principles and we never shall.

“We have always continued to be the voice and ear of the Turkish Cypriot people and we shall continue to be so for many years to come.”

The Lions Club Union, which has 12 members clubs and four junior Leo clubs, was visiting Kıbrıs  Media Group to offer congratulations for its “26 years of service to the TRNC”.

Handing over a date to palm sapling as a “birthday gift”, Lions chairman Ezcan Özsoy said: “We have brought a new date palm sapling because it can also grow in harsh climates.

“We are presenting it to you so that it can be planted in the grounds of Kibris newspaper as a reminder of today and in memory of your colleagues who work under difficult conditions,” he said.
