Everyone dreams of a white Christmas, but snow on New Year’s Eve is just as beautiful.
Cyprus was graced with sunshine and relatively warm weather for this time of year during Christmas but snow lovers will get their wishes granted as temperatures are set to drop in the next few days, leading to snowfall on Troodos mountains as 2016 rolls in.
As of Tuesday, temperatures are expected to begin dropping while rain conditions are set to begin sweeping across the island heading into New Year’s Day. Conditions for Tuesday will remain mainly mild while clouds will eventually begin to gather by the late afternoon. Temperatures will hover around the 20°C mark inland and on the coasts while temperatures on Troodos will be around 10°C.
Wednesday will see possible rain showers across Cyprus while Thursday and Friday (New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day) will see more rain and possibly even storms with inland temperatures expected to drop well below average, from around 20°C to 10°C on Thursday and Friday, with corresponding falls on the coast and in the mountains.
