Plans to build a controversial gasoline stock will be cancelled, according to the Prime Minister in an exclusive statement to the newspaper Cyprus Today.
The remarks were made after a meeting of the Council of Ministers last Wednesday, when the action was taken to revoke earlier decisions, including rent of a 70 donum plot in Kalecik on the east coast to the Swiss-based Rixo Ltd., which planned to build a plant.
PM’s stance angered petrol heads but was welcomed by environmentalists, who have been lobbying to get the permissions previously granted, revoked. Cyprus Today says: We are excited to have gas based investments. In our Ministerial Council Meeting on Monday, we will discuss how such investments can be regulated and prevent new ones from being built.
