Korineum victorious in tournament

A two-leg golf tournament of 48 players and eight teams ended with victory for the Korineum 2 team, with a score of 307 points. Organised by the North Cyprus Golf Federation, the second leg of the interclub tournament took place Korineum Golf and Country Club in Esentepe on Wednesday last week. Korineum 2 were followed by CMC Golf Club with 302 points, while third in the 18-hole tournament was Korineum 1 with 295 points.

Net winner of the singles category was Julie Freeland (42 points) with Tim Case the gross winner (26 points). Speaking to Cyprus Today, North Cyprus Golf Federation board member and organiser Dr Hasan Garabli said: “The two-leg event ended with skill and determination by the golfers, with Korineum 2 team becoming champions.

We congratulate them on their success in coming first out of eight teams, Winners received trophies and medals from federation president Dr Hasan Öztoprak. In the first leg, held last month, Emrah Şimşek came first with 26 points in gross while Feridun Kilic came first with 35 points as the net winner.
