Korineum golfers raise cash for cancer charity

Members of the Korineum Golf Resort raised over 4,000TL for cancer sufferers at a special charity auction, organisers said on Monday.

Around 50 representatives of the club got together at the Loggerhead Sports Bar the previous Thursday for a presentation on the 18 most misunderstood rules of golf. Club captain Alan Law and Korineum club pro Burcin Dikmen answered questions on rules such as ”Red Lateral Hazard”, ”Removing Objects in a Bunker” and ”Accidently Moving Your Ball”.

The question-and-answer session was followed by an auction for an overnight stay in the Karpaz and a golf holiday in the Isle of Wight, while donated golf equipment and clothing also went under the hammer.

Korineum sales and marketing executive Lyndsay Davies said: ”The fantastic sum of 4,315TL was raised for the Captain’s Charity Fund which this year is ‘Hope in the Darkness’, part of the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) organisation. It is envisaged that the event will be repeated again in the autumn.”
