You will find the beautiful Karsiyaka beach, called Güzelyalı beach, along the coast west of Kyrenia. You drive all the way, past Karsiyaka, until you arrive at the curve that leads you into the country. Just before the curve there is a restaurant called Ocean Breeze and in connection to it you will find the beach. Güzelyalı beach is a long sandy beach with turquoise blue water, in a natural environment, far from the city noise.
Part of the year, the water level sinks and small swimming pools forms naturally which is perfect for young children to swim in. The beach is a turtle beach that attracts a large amount of visitors every year who want to see the turtles egg hatched. For three consecutive years, the Ocean Breeze Restaurant, together with Karsiyaka Turtle Watch, has arranged a Turtle Party, a big party with aim of helping the turtles on their way down to the ocean.
Ocean Breeze is a popular restaurant among locals, expats and and foreign tourists who like to stay here to enjoy traditional Cypriot food and hospitality. Ocean Breeze does also has a picnic area with 16 tables adjacent to the beach and the restaurant.
