Kantina Quality Foods

Lambros Sergides has been travelling for years, tasting flavours and collecting his impressions on interesting food products. When his list got very big, he created Kantina Quality Foods and gathered all the items on his list in one room.

On the shelves of this gourment market, you can find first of all a variety in cheese and cold cuts from Britain, Italy, Spain, and France. A spicy salami from Calabria, jamon iberico, brie stuffed with truffle and mascarpone, Italian medium-hard cheeses with spices, and many more.

Most products come from small-size producers and specialty companies, so it is possible to place your own order for a platter. In the fridge, you will find excellent frozen pasta, i.e., tortellini stuffed with lobster and crab or tortellaci with asparagus. In a nearby fridge, there are meat choices such as wild game, grass-fed rib eye, beef cheeks, lamb curry and shanks. On another shelf, there are organic and seasonal vegetables as well as local produce.

You can also get beets, lettuce, fennel, turmeric, horseradish and other less common fruit and vegetables. And if you happen to know already that Spanish canned food is one of the best in the world, then you will find a very good variety of anchovies, sardines, tuna and sea urchin. For the foodies, there is also great honey from France, balsamic from Modena, truffle-based products, various types of pasta, Sienese biscuits, Marou chocolates from Vietnam, Zotter and Grenada chocolate from the Caribbean.

At the counter there is freshly baked bread from Qboo, freshly-ground coffee brewed onsite at Kxoffee Project, and couverture chocolate in bulk. Before you leave, you can buy flowers for your home. Open Monday-Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday 9am-3pm. 48 Sofouli Street, south Nicosia, +357 22 680 040.
