Kads go on tour

Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society (Kads) takes to the road in March as enthusiastic thespians bring their new show to the Pia Bella and Mountain View hotels on a four-date “tour”.

Their latest production, a comedy by veteran Kads jokester Phil Lucock, is set in “The St Kads Home for the Elderly” and will feature a different cast at each venue.

The Older They Get, a tale of misunderstandings and mayhem between four seniors and their long-suffering carers, will be directed by June Lucock, who is currently tasked with double rehearsals “so that everyone can have a go”.

The troupe’s Beverley Westbrooke said: “Girne Municipality Theatre is still under refurbishment so we decided to tour in the style of our very popular Christmas murder mysteries.”

The “Food and Fun” evenings offer the three-act comedy between dinner courses for which invitations are priced at 60TL to benefit Kyrenia Animal Rescue and SOS Children’s Village.

Kads raised about 12,000TL for the two charities from their last four shows.

A spokesman said the Kads team would also consider touring farther afield should a hotel venue wish to host their production.

Invitations may be purchased from the Lambousa Saturday market or The Food Lodge in Girne and more information may be obtained by phoning 0533 848 5313.
