Is there a world outside our laptops?

For those of you who are residence of North Cyprus and have been experiencing internet connection problems over the last few days, Erol of Multimax explains:

“Since Thursday around 4pm we have had a series of what appear to be DDOS (distributed denial of service attacks) on our link out to Turkey via TTNet. It would appear that NTV have also suffered DDOS attacks in this same period, though the attacks on them were not on servers in North Cyprus or Turkey.”

It may be surprising to know that Turkey is the 7th most popular target country for attacks on internet services. The UK isn’t even in the top 10.

The issue is being dealt with and will be resolved a quickly as possible.

Guess we will have to just grin and bear it for now and discover that there is a world outside our laptops.
