Hippolytus performance at Salamis amphitheatre

Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) is performing “Hippolytus”, a tragedy by the ancient Greek playwright Euripides, at the ancient open amphitheatre of Salamis on September 11, a performance that is taking place within the framework of reunification efforts.

THOC president Yiannis Toumazis recently said that entrance tickets had already sold out and that “a great deal of interest has been shown by a large portion of the Cypriot people to watch the play”.

He said that “the performance will take place in ancient Salamina within a very specific framework”.
He explained that the play had been organised under the aegis of the bi-communal Technical Committee on Culture in the framework of the Cyprus reunification talks.
