Feeding points for strays

The Kyrenia Municipality has established ‘feeding points’
in the streets for stray animals who feeding-pointscould not find food and water during the summer months.

The feeding points will hold dry food and water for the animals so that they are able to feed in cleaner areas. The points are replenished by the local council daily.

Health department head Naile Soyel told press that this was the first of its kind and a point especially designed for the animals. Soyel said they were conducting work in cooperation with the Kyrenia Animal Rescue KAR in order to reduce the number of stray animals by spaying and rehabilitating them. She added that the source of street animals were not dogs but humans themselves.
