After having lived in Cyprus a few years one gets pretty picky when it comes to mezes. One is well aware of how it should taste, and everything from hummus and eggplant dip to olives, fried mushrooms and halloumi cheese should be perfectly prepared. It should be accompanied by freshly baked bread, a fresh salad and cheeses. At Eminem restaurant they do it all right when it comes to the meze. Besides that, they offer warm meze dishes (both meat and vegetarian), including kebabs, falafel and cheese filled mushrooms. The menu is extensive with something for everyone.
Eminem is a typical Cypriot restaurant located in a stone house a bit up on the hill in Çatalköy. From here you have an unobstructed view of the sea and you can sit both outside and inside. The walls inside are covered with old family portraits and Cypriot antiquities. Out in the garden, you are surrounded by greenery. Here children can run around and play while parents enjoy the sunshine. By the stone wall, one can find a small pond by the entrance to a tunnel that leads right into the stone wall. It was from here the inhabitants got water in the old days when they still drew water from the mountain.
Eminem is very genuine and cosy. Here you can easily spend an entire Sunday afternoon with the family. It is also a great venue for festivities. The staff is pleasant and helpful.
