Double the vibe

W&W at Guaba

The Guaba Beach Bar in Limassol has just two events left before it closes up for the season. The big closing fiesta is next week, but this week make the most of it by attending the house music performance by the Dutch DJ and production duo W&W.

W&W, who are Willem van Hanegem & Ward van der Harst, are known for their big room sound. They met almost a decade ago and it was musical love at first sight… or sound. Together they built up their sound to go beyond and break the boundaries of the genre.

Their experience on the decks and knowledge of each other’s strengths have made them masters at fusing styles and mixing influences, combining uplifting and melodic elements of trance with the raw intensity of electro and progressiveness of house to create a sound that is all their own.

But it is not all about the sound. When you get these two in charge of making musical waves, they put on a bang of a show. They try to make every audience member feel a connection with them and their music. While one ‘W’ is behind the decks the other may be literally on them, waving his hands to the beat and getting the crowd all worked up.

They have worked with some of the best, including Hardwell on the widely known song Jumper, with Armin Van Burren on the song D# Fat, and also with Ummet Ozcan. They never stop reaching for the next big festival to perform in, including Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Ultra and Stereosonic. And now they have their sights on Guaba, so come on, it will be one hell of a musical ride.

Live performance by the trance DJs. September 25. Guaba Beach Bar, Limassol. 10am-9pm. €15/10/free. Tel: +357-96-340000
