Dogs head to Bulgaria

Cyprus Animal Rights and Cynology Federation (Hakif) are inviting dog owners to submit their pets for a TRNC team to compete in a Bulgarian dog show.

The Bulgarian Republic Cynology Federation Black Sea Winners 2015 contest will be staged in Gradina, Sozopol in mid-July.

Master trainer Ben Senova said that the newly founded Hakif would be staging a fundraising dog show at Santoria Holiday Village on Sunday, June 14, which is open to all, where pet owners could meet up for more information.

Funds from the Santoria show will help to complete their rehabilitation centre near Ercan airport for the training of problem or abandoned canines.

Mr Senova was featured in Cyprus Today in July 2012 when he took on a Kyrenia Animal Rescue black labrador named Meg for search and rescue training after she was repeatedly returned to the centre as unmanageable by a series of new owners.
