Cratos Premium Hotel in Çatalköy was named the champions of the first ever TRNC Gastpro Team Gastronomy Competition, held at Girne’s Grand Pasha Hotel.
The event, organised by the Banquet magazine, saw kitchen and bar staff from 12 North Cyprus-based hotels pitted against each other, with each team given just seven minutes to whip up a cocktail and bar snack combination.
Around 400 guests from the fields of tourism, education and the media attended the event, with a jury of top Turkish culinary experts scoring the teams’ creations based on creativity, presentation and the “harmony” between the food and drink.
Cratos were crowned champions, pictured below, after picking up a total of 828 points while Merit Royal Hotel came second on 770 points. The Arkin Colony hotel finished third on 733.5 points.
