Concert to aid animal rights group

A concert, with some proceeds going to the Cyprus Animal Rights Society, is to take place on Friday, March 25 in Lefkoşa’s Bibliotheque. The event will begin at 8pm and see performances by Turkish Cypriot opera singer Vasfiye Çakurtaş Çubukçu and her student Young Soloists group made up of Dilan Iğdır, Onay Çikuşu and llke Aslim, who will be accompanied by guitarist Ismet Emiz, Semih Erciyas on keyboards, clarinettist Ali Pit, drummer Ibrahim Ince and goblet drummer Kemal Şimşekatan. A tango display by dancers Behiye Berktuğ and Onder Egeli will also be a feature of the evening.

Mrs Çubukçu said all animal lovers and music fans would be welcome to join the audience for a quality concert while contributing to a worthy cause. Members of the charity said money raised will go towards treatment medicines and food for abandoned and stray animals.
