Book funds to help children with cancer

A new cookbook has been released to raise money for children undergoing cancer treatment at Lefkosa’s State Hospital.

Sevginin Tadi Tuzu (The Taste of Love) includes 72 recipes written by three mothers – Mutlu Soykurt, Ozge Ertugrul, and Hatice Kayim.

Around 2,000 copies of the book have been printed, with proceeds from sales expected to be handed over to the paediatric oncology service on June 1, international children’s day.

”The aim of this project is to improve the quality of life for these and future generations of sick children.”

”Every child deserves a healthy and happy childhood. Every supporter makes a difference for these kids and will bring a smile to their faces,” said a statement on a Facebook page set up to promote the publication.

Producers of the book said they would consider producing an English-language version, if there was demand for one.

Copies, priced at 50TL, can be purchased from all Near East Bank, Magic Touch and Deniz Plaza branches as well as the Berberoglu book Shop and homeware store Pandora’s in Lefkosa.
