Girne’s Art Rooms to host theatre performances at In-Decent Part ll

Art Rooms theatre performances

Theatre and art are promised this month at Girne’s Art Rooms at The House, which hosts performances from the Rooftop Theatre at an In-Decent Part ll art exhibition.

The performance art show opened last night, with a live spectacle until 9.30pm, which will be repeated on the following Monday and on the closing night Friday, March 17.

Rooftop Theatre player Oya Akın and her colleagues first collaborated with Art Rooms organiser and artist Oya Silbery in April last year, when a photographic and video exhibition examined the link between nudity and indecency.

The show continues from last year’s theme of the separation from nature and each other, caused by bodily estrangement, and examines the physiological trauma resulting from the betrayal of the body. Ms Akın said workshops and performances by the group had used the exhibition as a starting point to evaluate indecency from physical, intellectual and aesthetic standpoints.

The In-Decent Part ll exhibition may be visited between March 6 and 17, with viewing from noon until 10pm every day except Tuesday.
