Art competition for Human Rights Day

An art competition is being organized with the objective to promote and highlight the importance of International Human Rights Day.

The competition is organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in cooperation with the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, the Embassy of the United States of America, and the Embassy of Norway.

The theme of this year’s competition is human rights as expressed through art.

Entries can be submitted in two categories:

(a) Photography/poster
(b) Painting / drawing

In each category the competition is divided into two age groups:

(a) 12-18 years old
(b) 18+

All entries will be evaluated by a committee.

The two best entries in each category and age group will receive prizes, including tablets and smartphones.

All submitted artwork will be exhibited at an awards ceremony on Thursday December 3.

The deadline for submitting entries is Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
