Antiphonitis church is located in the mountains above Esentepe and is often cited as one of the finest old buildings that remain in Cyprus today. The church, that was part of a monastery, is built with beautiful details and with interior walls covered with colourful frescoes depicting biblical scenes. The paintings were made in different periods between the 12th and 15th century, unfortunately many of them have been worn away over time, but there are still many left to see; among other things, the image of Jesus painted on top of the roof of the large dome.
Antiphonitis church is located in the mountains with a beautiful view of the coast.
Entrance ticket to the church costs 7 TL and the opening hours during the summer are between 8.30am and 5pm.
