27 years of Diastasi

The Diastasis Cultural Association will celebrate 27 years of organising and performing different music and dance events with a performance by the Diastasi Children Choir on Wednesday in Limassol.

The performance, under the name Klassika (classic), will fill the Tracasol Cultural Centre at the Limassol Marina with modern and mainly classical sounds. The music performed will cover an international scope.

The choir will sing to tunes created by Korina Vasiliou on the piano, Doros Zismios on the cello, Achilleas Ioannou on the clarinet and saxophone and Rodos Panagiotou on percussion.

The artistic directors of the show are Christina Pissouriou Ioannou and Demetra Pissouriou Klouvatou.

Through these 27 years many of the individuals who were once part of the children’s choir have grown-up. Some have achieved musical acclaim in Cyprus and abroad, such as Christina Averkiou, Nikoleta Ardanitou and Costantinos Melidi. Diastasis Cultural Association feels that these accomplishments are what it is most proud of and, apart from celebrating its birthday, the concert is also a means of showing this pride and showcasing the next generation of musical talent.

The well known multi-dimensional expression that Diastasis has established in its performances is sure to shine through its many years of experience on Wednesday.
